What is in my camerabag?
The past few months, I’ve been on the road a lot, chasing golden hours, misty mornings, and stormy skies. Along the way, I’ve fine-tuned my camera bag to be as complete as possible for landscape photography. That also means—it’s heavy! But every single item has earned its place, whether it’s for capturing the perfect shot or surviving unexpected challenges like sudden downpours, aggressive mosquitoes, or the realization that I forgot to eat dinner.
So, what’s inside my trusty bag? Let’s dive in!
My essentials for landscape photography
Camera Canon EOS RP // A lightweight yet powerful mirrorless body that’s been my go-to for landscapes
Lens Canon EF 16-35 F4/L // My ultra-wide workhorse for epic landscapes and dramatic skies
Lens Canon RF 24-105 F4/L // The all-rounder for those times when I need a little extra reach
Tripod Smallrig 4059 Carbon Fibre // Sturdy, lightweight (well, for a tripod), and reliable in windy conditions
Bag Tarion Rolltop Camerabag // Spacious, weatherproof, and doesn’t scream “expensive camera gear inside!”
Extra Batteries & SD cards
Other camera accessories
Remote control Rollei Corded remote // Perfect for long exposures without camera shake
Benro Pro Filter Kit // A game-changer for balancing exposure in bright landscapes and capturing long-exposure shots
Cleaningkit blowduster, lenscloth, screencleaner // Because dust and raindrops have a way of showing up at the worst times
Survival 😆
DEET Spray – If you know, you know… 🦟 Dutch landscapes = mosquito paradise
BTWEEN Bars – Emergency snacks for when I forget to eat (which happens more often than I’d like to admit)
Sunblock – Because “just one more shot” always turns into an hour-long session
Headlamp – For when I lose track of time and realize I’m shooting in complete darkness
Extra Clothes – Layers, vests, gloves, and my newest essential: boots (because wet socks are the worst)
Hand Sanitizer – For quick clean-ups in the wild
Sunglasses – Squinting into the viewfinder is not a vibe
Umbrella – Because I learned the hard way… never trust the weather
