A late-summer road trip took us from the dramatic cliffs of France’s Opal Coast to the fairytale island of Mont Saint-Michel, with stops in Saint-Malo, Château de Pirou, and the iconic arches of Étretat. Between rain showers and rainbows, we chased sunsets, explored medieval streets, and captured the magic of Normandy and Brittany through our cameras and drones.

From Lisbon’s colorful hills to the castles of Monsaraz, the quiet heat of Mértola, and the wild Atlantic cliffs near Vila Nova de Milfontes, this Portugal road trip was filled with sunsets, drone flights, and unexpected turns. Twisted ankles, wrong turns, and airport delays couldn’t outweigh the charm of whitewashed villages, golden light, and the simple joy of exploring.

The past few months I’ve been on the road a lot, and during that time I optimized my camerabag for landscape photography.

A year of photography can be a transformative experience, full of both challenges and rewards. This year, I had the opportunity to embark on a photography journey that took me to the beautiful country of Italy and to my new hometown of Haarlem.
