2022 recap

A year of photography can be a transformative experience, full of both challenges and rewards. This year, I had the opportunity to embark on a photography journey that took me to the beautiful country of Italy and to my new hometown of Haarlem (The Netherlands).

In Italy, I was captivated by the stunning architecture, colorful street scenes, and delicious cuisine. I spent countless hours wandering the winding streets and capturing the essence of each city I visited. I was particularly drawn to the ancient ruins and monuments, such as the Arena of Verona and the Leaning Tower of Pisa. The natural beauty of the countryside was also a constant inspiration, and I was able to capture some breathtaking landscapes and seascapes.

Back in Haarlem, I was excited to re-explore my new hometown through the lens of my camera. I made an effort to capture the city's rich cultural heritage and the daily lives of its inhabitants. I discovered hidden gems such as the beautiful parks and gardens, the historic canals and the historic windmills. I found myself particularly drawn to the architecture, both old and new. The contrasting styles of the city's Gothic and Renaissance buildings provided endless opportunities for creative compositions.

Throughout the year, I learned a lot about the technical aspects of photography, such as how to control exposure, depth of field and focus. I also explored different styles and techniques, such as street photography, landscape photography, and portrait photography. I discovered new editing techniques, as well as how to enhance the final image using post-processing software.

Overall, it has been a wonderful and fulfilling year of photography. I am proud of the photographs I have taken and the skills I have learned. I look forward to the future and to capturing many more memories through the lens of my camera.
